As an organization, WCBPA has championed rights, promoted laws, and highlighted the best in our communities as role models and mentors. Simultaneously, the WCBPA has served to expose the worst in communities as a motivator for change for our youth. The West Coast Black Publishers Association members have served as agents for change in the struggle for equality of opportunity. Corporate citizens who are committed to the goals of equality of opportunity for the citizenry of all races have joined us as well and have stood as partners with the Black Press as advertisers and marketers.

The mutual benefits of advertising in the Black Press has served the overall society well.
The community is made aware of the goods and services provided by corporations who are aware of the needs of the communities they serve. Also the Black Press, in partnership, survives to provide support for accomplishing the goals created by motivated Black communities.

The signs of the times that tell us we are wining the battles have never been brighter. And yet we know that the need to continue highlighting and exposing the message of progress for our youth, the contributions of our corporate partners, and the faith of our church communities has never been greater. Together the communication role in the battles for progress falls to the communication vehicles of our societies such as our member newspapers and their related internet vehicles. Our papers have joined society in embracing the instant communication techniques of the technological age with all of its benefits. We have done so without losing the ability and need for the old fashioned the personal touch.

We invite you to join us as we look forward to many more exciting year of service to our communities.
